It is very extreme, very extensive identity theft that is in progress.
These compensated parties have all had extensive modifications to resemble the victim they are presenting as. They could absolutely be sold to a loose acquaintance or general audience.
Technology has then been utilized to assist in blending the frauds into their new, assumed identities.
AI has been used to generate videos/pictures of the deceased and voice-cloning is employed to conduct phone calls to make the victims appear to still be alive.
They are not.
Danika has easily been able to spot the counterfeits, as she knew all of the victims personally.
Today, the frauds choose to keep their distance from Danika.
They know she is able to unmask every last one with her own firsthand knowledge of the victim being portrayed by each imposter.
